Connection form of high pressure hoses and precautions for thread sealing

Released on Aug. 31, 2022

There are many types of high pressure rubber hose joints, but almost all high pressure rubber hose joints are sealed by threaded connections. For high pressure rubber hoses, a tighter cone thread form is used. High pressure rubber hose joints can be divided into two types: internal thread form and external thread form.

Two thread forms of high pressure rubber hoses joints:

1. Internal thread form high pressure rubber hose joint

The internal thread connection form is more suitable for high pressure rubber hoses with larger inner diameters, and the resistance to high pressure is not excellent, and the sealing effect is mainly achieved by the sealing ring.

2. External thread form high pressure rubber hose joint

The external thread connection form is more suitable for high pressure conditions. This method makes the joints of the high pressure hose fit closely together and plays a good sealing effect, and this method is also very effective in avoiding the loosening of the connection caused by the high pressure liquids.

Points to notice when using threaded seals for high pressure rubber hose joints:

1. The taper angle of the high pressure rubber hose joint is generally 60°, and the taper angle of the end is generally 1 degree smaller than that of the hose end. In addition, the taper angle of the end must be kept sharp to avoid becoming damaged.

2. Drainage holes should be reserve in advance at the joint seal, which is more beneficial to observing the condition of the sealing surface and avoid damage to the sealing surface under the safety instructions.
