As we all know, the hydraulic hoses consist of three parts: the inner rubber layer, the reinforcement layer and the outer rubber layer. The failure of the hydraulic hoses is nothing more than from these three structures. Next, the following possible failures and corresponding solutions are briefly described from these three structural aspects.
The inner layer is hard enough to endure the temperature, pressure and corrosiveness of the liquid being transported. The main failure of the inner rubber layer is the rupture of the inner rubber layer. The reason is that the hose is subjected to high temperature, which causes the spillage of plasticizer.
Another fault that is easy to occur in the inner rubber layer is that the inner rubber layer is prone to deterioration and expansion. This phenomenon occurs mainly because the liquid transported during the working process does not match the inner rubber material of the hydraulic hoses. The liquid in the hydraulic hoses chemically reacts and deteriorates it.
The oil seepage of hydraulic hoses is because the inner rubber layer is eroded by the impact of the conveying medium, resulting in the exposure of the reinforcing layer, which leads to oil seepage. In this case, the hydraulic hoses should be replaced in time.
As the skeleton of the hydraulic hoses, the reinforcement layer is made of single-layer or multi-layer steel wire by braiding or winding process. The main failures that are prone to occur in the reinforcement layer are as follows:
This is mainly because the reinforcing steel wire is eroded by corrosive substances or a humid environment, and the strength is greatly weakened, and it is more likely to break during high-pressure work.
steel wire breakage will cause the hydraulic hoses to rupture, and the steel wire breakage is generally caused by frequent high pressure shocks during use.
The outer rubber layer is covered on the outermost layer of the hydraulic hoses to protect the steel wire of the reinforcement layer from external erosion. Because it is in the outermost layer and is in contact with the external environment, the possible failures of the cover layer are more likely to be found.
The following are the failures that are prone to occur in the outer layer of the high-pressure hose:
This situation mostly occurs in cold environments, and continuing to use the hydraulic hoses after cracks will cause the hose to bend, which may lead to further accidents. If the system pressure is too high or it is twisted during installation and use, it will also cause the hydraulic hoses to rupture, which will make the hydraulic hoses useless, so it must be replaced. In addition, the natural aging of the outer rubber layer will also cause the outer rubber layer of the hydraulic hoses to become brittle. After reaching a certain level, under slight pressure, hoses will bend and cause slight cracks, which also means that the hydraulic hoses should be replaced.
Bubbling on the surface is usually due to improper use of the hose, or the purchased hydraulic hoses are of poor quality. The cause can be determined by the location of the bubbling of the hydraulic hoses. If the bubbling of the hydraulic hoses appears at the joint, it is probably because the joint of the hydraulic hoses is installed unreasonably; but if the bubbling appears in the middle of the hydraulic hoses, it is likely that the quality of the hydraulic hoses purchased is poor.
The above introduces the frequent failures and causes of hydraulic hoses. For the points that need to be paid attention to during the installation and use of hydraulic hoses, you can learn: Precautions for installation of hydraulic hoses and precautions for the use of hydrauli hoses.
