The Difference between Braided Hydraulic Hose and Spiral Hydraulic Hose

High pressure rubber hose is a common part of hydraulic system in industry. Both of the above two types of hoses have three parts: inner rubber layer, steel wire reinforcement layer, and outer rubber layer, so what is the difference between the two? 1. The production process of the two is different

The reinforcement layer plays a supporting and reinforcing role in the high pressure rubber hose, and the difference in the production process is mainly reflected in the reinforcement layer. For high pressure steel wire braided rubber hoses, the reinforcement layer is a staggered mesh structure; For high pressure steel wire spiral rubber hoses, the reinforcement layer is a spiral helical structure formed by steel wires, and the directions of each layer are alternately spiraled.

2. The number of optional reinforcement layers is different

For high pressure steel wire braided rubber hoses, the steel wire reinforcement layer can be an odd-numbered layer or an even-numbered layer. Generally speaking, 1-2 layers are the most common choose; but for a high pressure steel wire spiral rubber hose, the steel wire reinforcement layer must be an even-numbered layer. Because the layers need to be spiraled clockwise and counterclockwise, under normal circumstances, 4-6 layers are the most common choose.

3. Withstand different pressures

Comparing the two types, the spiral process is tighter, so for the same number of layers of high pressure steel wire spiral rubber hoses and high pressure steel wire braided rubber hoses, the former has higher strength and can withstand higher pressure. Although the high pressure steel wire braided rubber hose is not stronger to withstand pressure, it also has its own advantages: due to the braided manufacturing process, it has better burst resistance and stronger flexibility.
