What is a flange?

A flange is a pair of disc-shaped tool components commonly used for pipe end or equipment connections. Flanges are mainly used for pipeline connections. The types and thicknesses of flanges selected for pipelines with different working pressures are different, and the bolts used for bolted connections are also different. In addition, flanges are also used for the connection of various equipment.

What does a flange joint contain?

The flange joint consists of three parts: the flange, the gasket and the bolt are connected to each other as a set of combined seals.

Flange connection method?

There are holes on the flanges, the bolts pass through the holes to connect the two flanges, and the flanges are sealed with a gasket sheet.

Flanges are used in pairs, wire welded flanges can be used for low-pressure pipelines, and welded flanges can be used for pressures above four kilograms. Add a gasket between the two flanges and fasten them with bolts. Flanges with different pressures have different thicknesses, and they use different bolts. The types of gaskets that need to be selected are also different, including low-pressure asbestos gaskets, high-pressure asbestos gaskets, and metal gaskets.
